DETAILED ITINERARY

DAY 01: ARRIVING SIEM REAP.

A Warm welcome to Cambodia!

Your local English-speaking guide will meet and greet you on arrival in Siem Reap, then transfer you to your hotel for check in. (Official check in is at 14:00, early check in may be possible but depends on room availability). Along the way your tour guide will tell you a little about the history and culture of Cambodia.

After settling in, you will set out for an excursion to the amazing and awe inspiring temples of Angkor Wat, surrounded by a manmade moat. It is no surprise this monument was awarded a UNESCO World Heritage Site status. Here you will also enjoy a truly memorable sunset with a panorama view of the amazing landscape from Pre Rup temple.

Tonight you will be enthralled by the Phare Cambodia Circus; a troupe of young Cambodians offering a spectacular and exciting blend of traditional and modern theatre, music, dance, acrobatics, juggling and contortion beautifully choreographed and performed as a story about Cambodian life and society. You will enjoy a welcome dinner before heading to Phare Cambodia Circus.

Meals: Dinner included.
Accommodation in Siem Reap.

DAY 02: SIEM REAP - KHMER TEMPLES

You begin today’s tour early, after breakfast at the hotel and head off to explore the ancient Khmer capital city of Angkor Thom. You will walk along the ramparts from the South Gate to see Prasat Chrung and stop at the Death Gate for some fruit and snacks before continuing to the main temple of Bayon. You will also visit several small temples nearby, such as Baphuon, the Terrace of the Elephants and the Terrace of the Leper King. Next on the agenda is a visit to the well-known jungle temple of Ta Prohm, for centuries overgrown by balsa wood trees and vines. This temple reeks of mystery and was also used in the movie Tomb Raider.

Enjoy your packed lunch near Siem Reap River then have a rest in the hammock for a short nap just as the local Khmer people do, before starting your afternoon tour.

You will spend the afternoon visiting Banteay Srei temple, also known as the ‘Women’s Temple'. It was associated with the training of female soldiers to fight against the enemies of the Khmer empire, and is is fairly unique in that it is constructed of beautiful pink sandstone and decorated with intricate stone carvings. On the return journey you'll visit the impressive Cambodia Landmine Museum, which has collected thousands of landmines since the days of the war. What is even more impressive is the story of the one Khmer man, Mr. Aki Ra, who disarmed the majority of these landmines alone. If time permits, you will explore the ruin of Preah Khan sitting right in the middle of the jungle. You will enter from the eastern entrance walking along the causeway while listening to the sound of birds and gibbons making for a very pleasant walk.

Tonight you will enjoy a dinner accompanied by a Khmer traditional Apsara dance performance depicting the unique Khmer culture.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner included.
Accommodation in Siem Reap.

DAY 03: ATV (QUAD BIKE) ADVENTURE - FOOD TOUR
Today is special. After an early rise at around 5 AM, your guide will pick you up at your hotel in a tuk tuk.  You will then transfer to the Quad Bike Center for a quick briefing and safety training on how to use the gears, clutch and brake before starting your adventure. You begin with a drive on your ATV through the small village of “Chreav” in the south to catch the beautiful sunrise over the green paddy fields. This is a great time for some unforgettable photographs. You will love the breeze while you drive, a great feeling to start the day, especially on a bright and fresh morning. On the way back, you will stop at the local market where the farming life starts very early. You’ll also see local people having their quick breakfast by the side of the road before heading to work. After you’ve completed your quad bike adventure you return by tuk tuk to have a quick breakfast at one of the most popular local restaurants before you transfer back to your hotel.

You will than have some time to rest at your hotel, maybe have a swim or pay a visit to the local market on your own. Or have a nap!

Around 4:30 PM your tuk tuk will meet you again at your hotel to start the afternoon Food Tour. You begin your food tasting experience at some local restaurants near the market where you can also try a lot of different food. As well as eating, you will learn about some of the local herbs and ingredients available at the market. Do not miss some of the street food stalls or fruit shakes along the walking section of the tour; they are delicious!

Khmer cuisine is fresh, adventurous, and now in several places, organic; the food is filled with so many wonderful flavors and textures. We’ll demonstrate to you exactly what we are saying by taking you to the best places.

Meals: Breakfast, and Dinner included.
Accommodation in Siem Reap.

DAY 04: GOOD BYE SIEM REAP
After a final breakfast at your hotel, you will drive south to see the great annual flood of the Tonle Sap Lake where you’ll take a boat excursion to see the stilted village of Kompong Phluk. Explore this great ecosystem by way of canoes and hear the calls of the birds or macaque monkeys while marveling at the flooded forest beneath the lake’s surface, you’ll see a Buddhist temple standing on an island which contains some beautiful Buddhist paintings on the celling.

You return to the hotel to check out (by 12:00 noon) then transfer to the airport for your departure fight.

Meals: Breakfast included.

A GREAT HOLIDAY IN CAMBODIA!

"Always memorable!"

I consider myself very lucky to have known Mr Kun (Travelloops General Manager) since 2007. Many unforgettable fond memories have been attributed to the well constructed and customised itineraries Mr Kun and his team have thoughtfully put together for myself and the many friends I have travelled Cambodia (and neighbouring SEA countries) with over the years. Mr Kun and his team have always proven to be extremely knowledgable, accommodating and of course lots of fun to be around with many friendships forged over the years! Our short visit in June certainly didn't dissappoint. Although short on time (2 days) we managed to squeeze in a half day Angkor tour (in the comfort of an air conditioned car), sampled wonderful local cuisine and also got a taste of the local nightlife thanks to the amazing Mr Kun! Don't know when I'll be back but Travelloops will always be my first point of contact. Thank you Mr Kun for another memorable time in Siem Reap!

"Cycle touring Camboia and Laos, multi-day tours"

From 2010 to 2016, we have toured with Travelloops several times on very memorable trips. Our initial tour was 3 weeks from Siem reap to the Mekong which we followed from Pakse, Laos to Southern Cambodia. It was a tremendous trip due to the experience and wonderful Travelloops folks led by Chanra , chanra@travelloops.com. We have since done 2 more multi weeks tours and several 1 day trips, all of them tremendous experiences.
I can enthusiastically recommend Travelloops as a tours company for cycling, hiking, or motor tours in and around Siem Reap, Cambodia and Laos.
